PLAY THERAPY

I strongly believe that play is the natural language of children.  The typical child can barely tell you how they feel about something today, let alone explain to you their feelings about abuse, neglect and/or life changes.  A child learns how to play before they learn how to talk! It is unreasonable for me, as a therapist, to expect a child to sit and talk about their feelings for an hour.

Through play therapy, a child can use the language of play to express their feelings, fears, desires and find solutions to their problems.  It is my goal as a therapist to help your child, through play therapy, to overcome the issues they bring with them into the playroom, as well as helping your child to become more resilient,  build self-esteem, independence and to reinforce positive behaviors.
